Bobby E. Depudy

MSGT Bobby E. Depudy, Sr. (USAF Retired) – resident of Knoxville, passed away at 8:25 p.m. Friday, May 11, 2012 at The Ben Atchley Veterans Home following a brief illness at the age of seventy-nine. He had been a resident of The Ben Atchely Veterans Home for the past two and one-half years where he was well known and loved by the residents and staff. Mr. Depudy was a faithful attendee of Central United Methodist Church and was an avid University of Tennessee football fan since childhood. He was also a regular at Rankin's restaurant and Shoney's on Broadway. Bob proudly served his country in the United States Air Force where he retired with almost twenty-two years of military service, attaining the rank of Master Sergeant. While enlisted in the Air Force, he served in the Korean and Vietnamese wars. Among other medals, he was the proud recipient of the Bronze Star. He was a Mason and a member of Trinity Lodge No. 282 in Deluth, Minnesota. Preceded in death by his father, Mike Depudy, infant son, Jimmy Depudy, mother and step-father, Margaret and Amos Sutton, brother, Jack Sutton, and sister, Glenda Sutton Whitfield. He is survived by his daughters, Jackie Sue Birch of Los Angeles, Vickie Lynn Depudy and son-in-law, Eric Robinson of Seattle, Washington; son, Bobby Eugene Depudy, Jr. and daughter-in-law, Judy Depudy of Seattle, Washington; grandchildren, Bobby Eugene Depudy, III, Sarah White and Tabatha Fish; three great-grandchildren; sister, B.J. (Berna Jean) Sutton Clark and brother-in-law, Charles Clark of Knoxville, Tennessee; very special friend, Barbara Shepherd. Family and friends will meet at 9:45 a.m. Thursday, May 17, 2012 at Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel to travel in procession to Highland Memorial Cemetery for an 10:30 a.m. graveside service officiated by Reverend Bruce Galyon. Full Military Honors will be presented by the Warner Robins Air Force Honor Guard and the Volunteer State Veterans Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at the mortuary. Online condolences may be extended at www.rosemortuary.com.
