Cowan Rodgers V

Cowan Rodgers, V, went to heaven unexpectedly on December 20th, 2023, only eight days after his 24th birthday. Cowan was born on Sunday, in Knoxville, Tennessee on December 12th, 1999, and was the only child of Cowan Rodgers, IV, and Andrea Atchley Rodgers. Cowan, like his Dad, loved the outdoors and became an avid fisherman and hunter at a very young age. He attended Sequoyah Elementary where he was known by his Principal as one of the most tenderhearted young boys at her school who would probably become either a “politician or a preacher”. After graduating high school from James Madison High in 2018, Cowan started as an apprentice with an electrical company in Knoxville. While working towards his electrical certification, he was employed with a residential construction company where he was currently working until his untimely passing. Although he loved the building trades like his grandfather Poppy, his utmost passion was cooking and everyone who had the privilege of eating with him, loved it! He often posted his favorite entrees on social media. Our Cowan will be Greatly missed! Cowan is preceded in death by his poppy, James John Atchley, great grandmother, Nancy McMillan Rodgers, and great grandmother Carol Sennett. He is survived by his father Cowan Rodgers, IV, and his mother, Andrea Elizabeth Atchley Rodgers; grandparents, Linda Carol Atchley, Carol Hodges Miller and John Richard Miller, III, Cowan Rodgers, III, and Julie Sennett Rodgers; great grandfather, Bill Sennett; uncles and aunts, Marc J. Atchley & Denise (cousins, Sam, Jack, Liam & Nita), great aunt, Stephanie Simon and Dwayne Simon (cousins, Grant, Troy & Amber), Meg Rodgers Lonon (cousins, Alex and Molly), Scotty Rodgers Falk & Jason Falk (cousins, LouLou, Lauren, Lucas and Olivia), John Miller III and Drew Miller (cousins, Thomas, John Wilson, Lucy and Robert), and McGowin Miller and Celina Miller (cousins, Jim, David and Izzie), great aunt, Lynn Hodges Smith & Fred Smith, great uncle, John F Hodges and Polly Hodges (cousins, Fleming and Carlisle), and great aunt, Katherine Rodgers Mayfield. Cowan is also survived by his many cousins and friends and his beloved 5-year-old Golden Retriever- Huna Kiki Rodgers, and his friend Mariah. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 2nd from 5:00pm-7:00pm at Rose Funeral & Cremation – Mann (6200 Kingston Pike).
