Geni Price Chittum

Geni Price Chittum, 89, of Knoxville died on September 9, 2018. She was born in Girardville, Schuylkill County, PA on April 14, 1929, and was the daughter of the late Albert and Mary Helen Dietz Price. She graduated from the June McAdams Finishing and Modeling School in Philadelphia, PA in 1953. Took some courses at the University of Tennessee. She acquired the Graduate Real Estate Designation as a Certified Specialist of New Homes and worked for the Prudential Real Estate Corporation in Pittsford, NY for 15 years in the New Homes Division until retiring in 2000 and moving to Venice, FL. Geni and her husband left Knoxville in 1959, and after 14 years of retirement in Florida, they returned to Knoxville in 2014. While living in Pittsford, NY, she was Coordinator of Elections for the Republican Party for two years. In her earlier years and after graduating from the June McAdams Model, she worked as a model in New York and Philadelphia and later modeling in Tennessee. While working as a secretary for a real estate agency in Knoxville, TN in April 1956, Geni won an all-expense paid trip to Hollywood, CA. After her Hollywood trip, Geni was Executive Secretary for the Huster Advertising Agency in Knoxville, TN. Geni remained at Huster until she married Robert A. Chittum in 1958. They had two daughters, Roxanne Chittum Clinton, Houston, Texas and Robin Chittum Murphy, Penfield, NY. Surviving are her huband Robert A. Chittum and daughters Roxanne and Robin and five grandchildren: Leonard Guy Clinton IV, Corrie Clinton Rae, and Allie Clinton, all of Houston Texas, Shelley Murphy Roberts and husband Phillip, of Knoxville, TN, and William Murphy, Jr. and wife Danielle, of Macedon, NY. She has several great-grandchildren and is survived by a brother Albert George Price. Predeceasing her in death are two sisters, Laura Price of Ashland, PA, and Mary Price Wertman of New Tripoli, PA, and brother Robert Leo Price of California. Geni was a board member and Historian of the Englewood Genealogical Society of Englewood, FL, and the Patriotic Instructor of the Daughters of the Union Veterans of the Civil War for Tent No. 10 in the State of Florida. She was a member of the National Egg Art Guild for several years. Funeral service will be held 10am, Friday, September 14 at Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel. Procession to Highland Memorial Cemetery to follow. The family will receive friends from 6:30pm-8:00pm on Thursday, September 13 at the funeral home.
