Jean Calfee Freshour

Freshour, Jean Calfee, age 87 of the Karns community in Knoxville, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, November 17, 2016 following an extended illness. Mrs. Freshour was born in Sweetwater, Tennessee on April 11, 1929, and was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a long-standing member of Grace Baptist Church (Oak Ridge Hwy). She was a past employee of Hamilton National Bank, United American Bank, and retired from First Tennessee Bank. Preceded in death by beloved husband of 66 years, James L. Freshour, Sr., parents Isaac Calfee and Lizzie Dyke Calfee; brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Maureen Calfee, Paul and Ruth Calfee, and Billy Calfee; sisters and brothers-in-law Helen and Freeman Bailey, Mae and Allen French, Elsie and Loyal Place, and Bertha Irene Stevenson; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Samuel Mose and Ruby Freshour, Mary Edith and Creed Hill, Ethylene and James Ottinger, Marcella Burnett, Elizabeth Ann Freshour and Judith Yvonne Freshour. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Linda Tallent and Robert (Bob) Tallent; son and daughter-in-law James L. Freshour, Jr. and Teresa Freshour; grandchildren: Tracy Russell and husband John Mark Russell, Lori Shelton and husband Michael Shelton, James L. Freshour, III, and wife Anna Freshour, and Jeremy L. Freshour; great-grandchildren, Cole Shelton, Emily Russell and Eli Russell; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Kay Burnette and husband Lloyd, Almeda Baker, Brenda Burns, and Roy Burnett; several nieces, nephews and cousins, and many friends, including special friend Ruth Brown. Jean loved taking care of her family and her home. She enjoyed gardening, canning, sewing, dancing, family games and picnics; she was also a fantastic cook. Funeral service will be held 4:00 p.m., Sunday, November 20, 2016 Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel with Rev. Jack Dean officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 p.m., preceding the service. Graveside service will be held 3:00 p.m., Monday, November 21 at the Faubian Cemetery, Parrottsville, Tennessee.
