Kathleen Marie Hazlewood

Kathleen Marie Hazlewood, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home in Knoxville, Tennessee on March 23, 2026, surrounded by love. She was born on October 18, 1959, in Atlanta, Georgia. Kathleen was the beloved wife of Mitch Hazlewood, her best friend and partner of 44 years. Together, they built a life centered around love, family, and unwavering devotion. She was a proud and loving mother to Michelle Marie Armstrong (Jay), and Megan Hazlewood Smith (Colton). Her greatest joy was being “Gram” to Peyton Marie Armstrong, Emma Kate Armstrong, and Jase Conley Armstrong, who were the light of her life. She is also survived by her brother, Leonard Piedmonte Jr. (Pat), chosen sister Tracy Schultz (Stan), along with many cherished cousins, nieces, nephews and “adopted” daughters whom she loved as her own. Kathleen is preceded in death by her parents, Vivian and Leonard Piedmonte, chosen sister Sandra “Lucy” Wilson as well as her deeply loved dogs Maci, Bo, Snoopy, Keira, Nala, Bear, Simba, Kotcha, and Yuki and her beloved granddogs, Maya and Yeti, all of whom she adored as family. Kathleen loved like no other. She took care of everyone around her and was the strongest fighter, always putting others before herself. Her family was her entire world, and she made sure they felt that love in every way possible. She especially had a gift for making holidays unforgettable. Christmas was magical because of her, and every gathering was centered around bringing her family together. She also found joy in the little things and had a special fondness for collecting pineapples, apples, and pigs, small reflections of her spirit and the warmth she brought into her home. Kathleen will be remembered for her deep love, her strength, and the way she made everyone feel cared for, seen, and at home. To know her was to be loved. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance and celebration of her life on Friday, March 27. We will begin with a receiving of friends and family at 1:00 PM, followed by a prayer service at 2:00 PM at Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel. We will then proceed to Edgewood Cemetery for a graveside service and burial at 3:00 PM.
