Lee A. (Daddy Lee) Loveday

Loveday, Lee A. "Daddy Lee" age 87, of Clinton, TN, passed away suddenly, Wednesday, February 20, 2013. He was born in Harlan, Kentucky on August 29, 1925 to the late Bert and Cora Loveday. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Euretha Craig, Georgia Oxendine; brothers, Henry Loveday and infant brother, Frank Loveday. Lee served in the 88th Infantry, 349th Division, Co I in World War II. His three main campaigns were Po Valley, North Appennines, Rome Arno. Lee was fiercely patriotic and loved his country. He was a loving husband to Billie for 66 years. She was his constant companion, friend, helpmate and caregiver. Becky and Randy (wife, Debi) were blessed beyond words with a tender, compassionate role model for a father. Clint (wife, Carla) and Luke (fiancee', Mandy) had a wonderful devoted relationship with their grandfather. His greatest joy was spending time with his great-grandchildren, Josie, Kirsten, Jocelyn, Liam and Titus. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Clinton and the Adult III Sunday School Class. Lee was the owner and operator of Lee's Hairstyling for 33 years. He was a lifetime member of the Charles H. McKinney Lodge and Knoxville Scottish Rite. Lee recently received his 50 year pin from both organizations. His hobbies included playing the banjo, collecting coins, growing beautiful flowers and square dancing. Survivors include brother-in-laws, Paul Linkes (wife, June), Allen Linkes (wife, Pat) and sister-in-law, Edith Shockley, several nieces and nephews, and devoted, dear friends. THe family will receive friends 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM Sunday at Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel. A celebration of life service will be held 4:00 PM Sunday at Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel with Pastor Stan Elliot officiating. A 1:30 PM Monday graveside service will be held at the East Tennessee State Veterans' Cemetery with full military honors presented by the Volunteer State Veterans' Honor Guard.
