Norman Angelo Zigrossi

Norman Angelo Zigrossi, of Knoxville, TN passed away peacefully in his sleep at his vacation home in North Myrtle Beach, SC on Wednesday, July 5, 2023. He was preceded in death by parents, Lillian and Myron Zigrossi and brothers, Myron Jr., and Robert. He is survived by his beloved wife of 22 years, Angela and his three daughters, Joanna, Karin and Bella; grandchildren, Krista, Jennifer, Jessica and Luke; sisters-in-law, Glo and Chris Zigrossi, several nieces and nephews. Norm attended Oakfield Alabama Central High School in Oakfield, NY. He received his undergraduate degree at Ohio Wesleyan University and his Master’s Degree from the University of Maryland. He attended Loyola Law School in New Orleans, LA. Norm’s first job was as a teacher and coach at a private school in Maryland. While teaching he applied to the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Washington, DC. Norm began his career as a Special Agent working the streets in Atlanta, GA, Jacksonville, FL and New Orleans, LA. He moved up the ranks quickly and received numerous commendation awards extensively throughout his time with the FBI. He was an Assistant Special Agent in charge of the Rapid City, SD and Pittsburg, PA offices. He was an Inspector in the Washington, DC office and Special Agent in charge of the San Diego, CA and the Washington, DC field office which was the 2nd largest office at that time. He had lived in 10 different cities in 23 years. Norm left the FBI to become the first Inspector General at the Tennessee Valley Authority. He held several positions while at the TVA and retired in 2000 as the Chief Administrative Officer and Executive Vice President of Business Services. Norm was a devoted husband, father and was truly a loyal and loving man. He worked hard his entire life starting by working in the fields as a young boy in Oakfield, NY to his tremendous professional career. As a Dad he always taught us to stand tall, be proud and speak our truths. He supported us throughout many accomplishments and difficulties in our lives. He attended Saint Albert the Great Catholic Church and Holy Ghost Catholic Church. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 6:00 pm Thursday, July 13, 2023 at Saint Albert the Great Catholic Church, 7200 Brickey Lane, Knoxville, TN 37918 receiving of friends following the service.
