Robert Edward Lee Henry (Bob)

Robert Edward Lee Henry “Bob” age 82 of Knoxville passed away Saturday Oct. 22, 2016 at Shannondale Health Care. Bob was known as “Grandaddy Bob” and “Grand Bob” by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather. Bob enjoyed spending time with his family & friends, playing golf, being an avid Tennessee football fan, as well as a big fan of Pat Summitt and the Lady Vols Basketball Team. Bob was a member of Eastminster Presbyterian Church, had served in the National Guard and retired from AT&T after 30 years of service. He was a member of Burlington Masonic Lodge # 763 F&AM, member of VFW Post 1733 & the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 2698 and had held many offices in CWA Local 3490. Bob enjoyed taking his wife, Nancy, out to eat and time shared with many friends at all of their favorite places. Preceded in death by parents E.A. Henry & Emma Stair Henry; brothers: Arnold (Melba) Henry, Tom Henry, James C. (Dorothy) Henry, Bill Henry and Fred Henry; Sisters: Dorothy Sawyer (Fred), Mary Tarver (Harold), Pearl Henry; Brother-in-law: Jim Hood. Bob is survived by his wife: Nancy Jane Henry; son and daughter-in-law: Robert E. Henry & Melissa C. Henry; daughter & son-in-law: Karen Henry Liles and Jeffrey R. Liles; Grandchildren: Stephen J. Poteet, MD & Tiffany, Allison P. Trammell & Wes, Anna P. McCain & Matthew, Claire S. Henry, Abigail L. Henry; great grandchildren: Eliza Dale Trammell, Lila Marie Poteet, Vivian Kate Poteet, Lucille Jane Poteet. sisters-in-law: Polly Hood and Betty Henry; sister & brother-in-law: Ruby Jean Edwards & Lamar and several Nieces, Nephews and Friends. The family would like to extend a “Special Thanks” to the staff at Shannondale Assisted Living & Health care for the loving care they provided, especially to Christy Reynolds who loved him like a Grandaughter. The Family will receive friends 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM Saturday Oct. 29th 2016 at Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel and proceed to Greenwood Cemetery 3500 Tazewell Pike for Graveside Services at 1:00 PM with Reverend Renee Willingham, M.DIV. and grandson Stephen Poteet, MD officiating.
