Vonda Collins

Vonda Collins, age 84, of Knoxville, TN passed away on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at the home of her son. Vonda attended Rule High School and remembered her younger years as being filled with fun and laughter with her brothers and twin sister in a house often full of friends. She worked at the Blue Circle restaurant where she met the love of her life, Herb. They went on to have 50 wonderful years of marriage together, two children, and lots of fun traveling. During her later years, she took much joy in spending time with her two grandchildren. She enjoyed the community of coworkers who became friends while working at Walmart. She was the kind of person that everyone instantly loved; kind, sweet, and funny with a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. She possessed a strong but quiet strength during difficult times, which served as an inspiration to her children. She was always proud and supportive of her children, offering words of encouragement and compliments at just the right times. She will be dearly missed by all but especially by her children, grandchildren, and twin sister with whom she had a special life-long bond. She is a member of Lincoln Park Baptist Church and also attended Second Methodist Church in her youth. She loved the Lord dearly and expressed her confidence that He was with her for her whole life. She was preceded in death by her husband, William H. Collins, Sr.; mother, Nelle E. King; brother, James W. Washam, Jr. (Donna) and brother-in-law William C. Brown. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, William Collins, Jr. (Laura); daughter and son-in-law, Peggy C. Sarinyamas (Charles); grandchildren, Audrey Sarinyamas, and Liam Collins; twin sister, Wanda M. Brown; brother, Robert L. Worsham (Carolyn) and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 pm Friday, March 17, 2023 at Rose Funeral & Cremation-Broadway. Funeral service will follow at 7:00 pm with Pastor Jana Spicka officiating. Family and friends will gather at 12:45 pm Saturday, March 18, 2023 at Greenwood Cemetery for a 1:00 pm graveside service. Online condolences may be extended at www.rosefuneraltn.com
